His main research interests are astrophysics and related technologies, new energy science and technology, condensed matter physics, material physics, theoretical physics, nuclear technology, optics and optoelectronics technology, intellectual property rights and technological innovation. The research platform includes Guangxi University-National Astronomical Observatory Astrophysics and Space Science Research Center, Guangxi University Key Laboratory of Astrophysics and Related Technologies, Guangxi University Key Laboratory of New Energy Science and Technology, Institute of Material Microstructure, Institute of Theoretical Physics, Institute of Applied Physics, and Intellectual Property and Technology Management Center. The total value of teaching and experimental equipment is more than 33 million yuan, and the observation platform such as optical temporary source observation system is jointly built with the National Astronomical Observatory.

In the past five years, the College has undertaken the National Science Fund for Outstanding Young Scholars 1 item, 2 National Key Basic Research and Development Program (973 Program) items, 26 National Natural Science Fund items and 36 provincial and ministerial-level projects, with research funding of over 30.93 million yuan, published 345 SCI papers, granted 20 patents, and won the first prize of Excellent Achievement Award in Colleges and Universities of the Ministry of Education 1 item. Some landmark achievements have been widely cited by international peers and written into textbooks.
