Craig R Barrett, 1939 was born in San Francisco, California, USA in August, and holds bachelor's, master's and doctor's degrees in materials science from Stanford University. He is the chairman of the board of directors of Intel Corporation, and is the main advocate for promoting the development of education in the United States and the world. He also actively emphasized the important value of science and technology in improving the global social and economic level.

Dr Barrett is the chairman of the United Nations Global Alliance for Information and Communication Technology and Development. He is also the consultant of the US President's Advisory Committee on Foreign Trade Policy and Negotiation and the American Health Information Community. In addition, Dr. Barrett is the co-chairman of the Student Achievement Business Alliance and the National Innovation Program Leading Committee. Member of the American Council of International Trade Advisers and the Education Advisory Committee of the Clinton Global Initiative. He is also a member of the American Governors Association's Task Force on Innovating America, the National Infrastructure Advisory Committee, the Science Exchange and National Security Committee, the US-Brazil CEO Forum, and the outgoing chairman of the National Institute of Engineering.
