Book Review

As dark as reality is, so is the story in this book.

After staying in darkness for a long time, people always look forward to the light.

Zhou Liping, such a murderer, brought some hope and light to society.

——Inscription Reading Bengepai’s reasoning is a brain-burning and suspenseful story for me, but often the murderer’s motive is very weak or even unrealistic.

(For example, the new classic masterpiece "Astrology Murder Magic", which is praised by many people, although the mystery and tricks are very exciting, I feel that the author set up such a big plot and implicated so many people, but the motive for the murder was so weak.

, I was speechless after reading it. Of course, I don’t mean to belittle this book and the original reasoning, it’s just a matter of personal preference.) But reading the socialist reasoning makes me sad, because the stories in it always make me unconsciously compare it to real life.

, although mystery novels are popular literature, I feel that the reasoning of the socialist school is sometimes not so popular, and even has a sense of serious literature in it. The reasoning of the socialist school is based on reality, but also transcends reality. The starting point is a murder case, but the final destination

But it's human nature.

Every time I read The Socialist Reasoning, it always brings me thousands of thoughts. The thinking about human nature and society is the highlight of The Socialist (the above is purely a personal opinion).

So far, I have only written two book reviews for socialist mystery novels, one is "Long Night" and the other is this book "Sweeping Mouse Ridge" (Of course, I haven't read many mystery novels, only about ten or so)

Let’s talk about this book!

This book review contains a lot of spoilers and character analysis.

Those who don’t want to be spoiled but are interested can read the book first!

ten years ago.

A serial murder case occurred in the western suburbs that resulted in the death of four people. When Zhou Liping, who was under 18 years old, was arrested, everyone believed that he was the real murderer. Only Lin Xiangming, a police officer university student who assisted the investigation team in the investigation, insisted that Zhou Liping

Only responsible for the last case.

Zhou Liping was ultimately sentenced to only ten years in prison.

Ten years later.

In the middle of the night, a raging fire broke out in the tunnel pavilion of an abandoned subway station. Firefighters found multiple bodies at the bottom of the pavilion. Surveillance video and on-site evidence showed that it was the released person who caused the tragedy.

Soon Zhou Liping, this time, who will clear his unfair grievances... After reading the whole book, I feel that many of the characters in the book are not thin, they are all flesh and blood, they have their stories, and they are full of flesh and blood.

Their joys and sorrows, their helplessness, and their confusion are just like you and me in reality.

Among the many characters, my two favorites are Lin Xiangming and Zhou Liping.

Since I haven’t read the author Hu Yanyun’s Truth Reasoner series, I don’t know much about Lin Xiangming.

Just talk about him in this book.

Lin Xiangming, a junior at China Police University, majoring in criminal psychology and behavioral science, is introduced in the book.

My impression of Lin Xiangming is true and persistent.

He insists on it himself, even if everyone opposes it, he will stick to it to the end.

Clearing Zhou Liping's innocence was due to his persistence. Through his investigation and reasoning, he firmly believed that Zhou Liping was not the real culprit in the first three murders, and also found video evidence of his alibi, but he respected Zhou Liping's decision.

He didn't expose the lie.

He is very persistent in evidence and truth. After all, no matter how brilliant the reasoning is, it is useless without evidence. No matter how many suspicions there are, there will always be question marks. Lin Xiangming said: "All unjust, false and wrong cases throughout the ages are because 'suspects' are regarded as 'facts'."

'. "Without evidence, how can one be convicted?

Isn’t it true that the so-called suspicion of guilt is clear?

In the novel, Zhou Liping was wrongly accused for ten years, but in reality, Zhang Yuhuan was wrongly accused for 27 years, isn't it the same?

There is no truth without evidence.

Lin Xiangming, although he doesn't appear much, is still very charming. It can be said that without Lin Xiangming, there would be no Zhou Liping. He saved Zhou Liping's life and gave Zhou Liping hope, because he was the only one in the world who believed in Zhou Liping.

Let’s talk about Zhou Liping again. My impression of Zhou Liping is that although he looks a bit like a bad guy, in a sense he is a good guy with a sense of justice and responsibility.

Another feeling about his murderous behavior is that the law has tricked him. He has a bad impression of the law and does not believe in the law.

So when I read the whole book, I always felt that the description of the legal aspect in the book was a bit inconsistent. I felt that the author always used the words of the characters to emphasize that the law can improve problems and solve problems, and that extrajudicial violence and lynching should be rejected.

(Whether it’s Hu Yanyun’s persuasion to Zhou Liping to believe in the law, or Director Xu’s persuasion to Du Jianping not to take personal revenge, but to believe in the organization and the law) These views are correct, but in reality they are often not so ideal.

In reality, there are too many unjust, false and wrong cases, and there are too many incidents where the law is manipulated at the applause of those in power.

The law may be fair, but the law enforcers are not. If we rely solely on the conscience of the law enforcers, it will be difficult to achieve legal justice.

I think that the author's beautification of the law may be a compromise for the sake of passing the review of the work. Perhaps this is also the author's real and urgent hope.
