How to prepare proof of funds for studying in the Netherlands

1. The students have enough money in their own accounts.

This account can be opened in China, Holland or any foreign bank, but it must be opened in the student's own name. Students must provide recent (nearly two months) bank deposit certificates. The certificate must include: student's full name, bank account number and deposit amount.

The certificate must also include the name, address and contact number of the bank. If the address and telephone number are not included in the certificate issued by the bank, students can add the address and telephone number by handwriting or bank seal, or the bank can open a separate document containing their seal, address and telephone number.

2. The student has paid the fee to the account of the Dutch university that admitted him (or the third party paid the fee instead of the student).

Before applying for MVV visa, China students can remit a certain amount of fees to the account of the school they want to study in. The Dutch school will send a confirmation letter to confirm that the remittance has been received. China State Administration of Foreign Exchange has made strict regulations on the exchange of RMB and foreign exchange and the remittance of foreign exchange to overseas banks. Students who have not obtained a visa or residence permit can remit foreign exchange to overseas banks in the following ways.

Situation 1: the remittance amount does not exceed $3,000. Students who already have foreign exchange, whether in cash or with a foreign exchange account in a domestic bank, can remit foreign exchange not exceeding $3,000 to an overseas bank account at one time. Students must clearly indicate the student's name and the purpose of each remittance.

Situation 2: Students who remit less than $20,000 can remit money by opening a special deposit account in a bank in China. The materials to be provided to the bank include: the admission notice (and translation) of foreign universities; Notice of tuition, living expenses and other expenses (and translation); A valid passport; Id card or household registration book (1under 8 years old).

After opening an account, students should convert the purchased foreign exchange into US dollars and deposit a certain amount of RMB into the account at the exchange rate of RMB 1 2. Subsequently, students can purchase and remit the required amount of foreign exchange with their own RMB cash or RMB in their deposit accounts. The bank will remit the specified amount to the Dutch college account and refund the deposit to the students after they obtain the visa or residence permit.

Some banks in China may require foreign official institutions (embassies, immigration agencies or foreign banks, etc.). ) issue a document explaining the purpose of remittance. To this end, NesoBeijing and the Dutch immigration agency IND * * jointly issued this official document, explaining the requirements for applying for a MVV visa in the Netherlands. This document can be obtained from NesoBeijing's office.

Case 3: Students who remit more than US$ 20,000 must apply to the State Administration of Foreign Exchange for remittance approval in advance.

When applying for remittance, the materials to be submitted are the same as in case 2.

After receiving the remittance, students go to the bank to go through the necessary procedures similar to case 2. Students who have obtained a visa or residence permit can directly exchange foreign exchange not exceeding the equivalent of US$ 20,000 as long as they present their college admission notice (and Chinese translation), charge notice (and Chinese translation), valid passport and visa, and do not need to open a RMB deposit account. The amount of foreign exchange that students can purchase and remit is subject to the amount marked on the charge notice.

3. The students got scholarships.

Scholarships can come from the Netherlands or other countries. Students are required to submit a copy of scholarship certificate. This document includes: the names of students who have won scholarships, the names of institutions that award scholarships, the specific amount and the time covered by scholarships.

4. Students deposit enough money into the account of the designated intermediary in China.

IND also accepts financial guarantees for students who apply for Dutch universities through designated intermediaries such as Chivast (China Study Abroad Service Center Jiahua Shida International Education Company) and CHEF (Dutch-Chinese Education Foundation).

In the 2004/2005 academic year, Chivast also provided this service for students who applied for the school by themselves (rather than through an intermediary), so that those students who could not provide valid bank certificates or directly remit money to the school before applying for MVV visas could choose.

Students can deposit RMB equivalent to the amount of MVV visa application in Chivast account. Chivast will issue a guarantee to Dutch schools. Dutch schools will issue this guarantee to IND as proof of students' funds. After obtaining the MVV visa, students can purchase foreign exchange from banks and remit it to Dutch universities according to the methods provided above. Chivast will refund the student's RMB deposit after receiving the confirmation letter from the institution confirming that it has received the student's remittance. If you choose this method, students must sign a service contract with Chivast and pay a service fee of 1 1,000 RMB or 1 1,000 Euro.

5. Financing through various channels

You can also raise funds through the above various ways. For example, a China student may get a Delta scholarship of 4,000 euros, and the rest will be paid by himself. In addition, it should be reminded that the above methods are the most commonly used methods to provide proof of funds for China students applying for MVV express visas, and other methods may also be accepted by IND.
