At present, there are mainly special funds for basic research of scientific instruments, popular science projects, monograph publication of research results, special funds for key academic journals, research projects of excellent state key laboratories, funds for directors of committees, funds for directors of science departments, funds for scientific activities for young people, funds for mathematics fields, and special funds for complex scientific research. According to the development and needs of national science and technology, the Natural Science Foundation sets up and adjusts special projects.
