Chronology of Xiao Fang Kiln
1938 was born in Qingshui Town, Taichung County. He was educated in Qingshui Primary School, Changhua Middle School and Taipei Institute of Technology.

1962-64 entered the first training course for kiln workers organized by China Productivity Center and Trade Center.

1963 joined beitou crown kiln ceramic tile kiln factory as technical director.

1964 went to the ceramics department of Nagoya Institute of Technology, Ministry of International Trade and Industry of Japan for further study, and studied under Kato and Kaneko.

1964-74 engaged in glaze agent research and technical guidance for kiln transformation production in ceramic tile kiln factory, and created glazed tiles for kiln transformation.

At the invitation of painter Yan Shuilong, 1972-75 was hired as a ceramic teacher of Practitioners Academy of Fine Arts.

1974 rented a house at 2 13 Zhongzheng Road in Shilin, actively engaged in glaze research at home, and personally designed and built the first gas kiln in Shengping, that is, the first work-ruby red glaze cup. In order to test his evaluation, it was the first time (and only time) that he took his work to the antique street to enjoy it. Since then, more and more people have asked for it, and this activity has opened the prelude to his creation.

1974 after resigning from the ceramic tile kiln factory, he was hired as the technical consultant and director of Ying Ge tunnel kiln, responsible for the mixing, start-up and operation of glaze. Then, at the invitation of friends, Ying Ge cooperated with porcelain, specializing in glaze matching and kiln firing, including various high-temperature red glazes, Jun kilns, Tianmu glazes and iron glazes. Later, I had to leave the factory because my partner asked for capital increase.

1974 rented a small studio in Ying Ge for research and creation, and rented a kiln nearby, which temporarily solved the problem of kiln burning.

1975-76 In order to concentrate on creating and building their own kiln, they moved to Xinglin 3rd Road, Beitou. During this period, almost all kinds of small objects were created by themselves, and they began to accept various orders from antique dealers and art shops in Taiwan Province Province and Hongkong, including Tianmu, Jun kiln, red glaze, folk kiln peach blossom red, blue and white, Yue kiln celadon and so on. Since then, the development direction of the small square kiln has taken shape.

During this period, 1976 visited the Forbidden City from time to time to study ceramics of past dynasties. On one occasion, Dong Yihua, the leader of the porcelain group at that time, was attracted by his excessive expression. After the leaders reacted to their superiors, they were able to make an exception and appreciate the red glazed Guanyin bottle, the treasure of the Palace Museum, in the most direct way.

The attack of 1977 platform caused the studio to be flooded. For the safety of my family and work, I moved to Xian Lane in Beitou to build a kiln. Later, a group of staff were trained to help the needs of various occupations in the future. Therefore, the number of ceramic products in Chuangyuan is increasing day by day, covering almost the elites of famous kilns in past dynasties, including white porcelain, celadon, Longquan porcelain, blue-and-white porcelain with different styles in Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, and red porcelain in glaze. Since then, the scale of Xiaofang Kiln has been gradually completed, laying the foundation for diversified creative direction.

1978-83 I got to know Mr. Zhang Daqian, and then I specially developed and made a variety of utensils mainly used for the display of the study, and also made gifts used by Dafeng Hall for many years, mostly single-color glazed porcelain such as peach blossom red, ruby red, bean green, shadow blue and beige glaze. At the age of 84 (1982), he painted a plum blossom picture for Mr. Cai Xiaofang's vase as a gift to his relatives and friends, which may be the only work presented by Mr. Daqian in ceramic form.

Through these efforts and influences, the Chinese people's attention to tea sets and quality requirements are driven, and the development of tea culture in Taiwan Province Province is both humanistic and more exquisite.
