What is AIC?

AIC Add In Card specifically refers to NVIDIA. Relying on the open chip policy, NVIDIA has now secured the top spot in the graphics display industry.

By producing display chips and distributing them to its partners, they can seize market share for themselves.

And these partners are not without standards. Those who can serve as NVIDIA's AIC partners are usually manufacturers with R&D and manufacturing capabilities.

The usual sales method is that NVIDIA provides graphics card chips, AIC produces them, and channel manufacturers sell them as OEM. In this basic chain, AIC can get more support than channel manufacturers, such as chips, funds, etc.

AIC is just an abbreviation. It is a manufacturer that produces NVIDIA graphics cards. As long as it has its own independent product line that produces N cards, it is considered AIC. According to the level, the top is core AIC. Core AIC is mainly based on the global shipments of the graphics card brand.

Definitely, there are only 19 companies now. The shipment standards set by NVIDIA have not been disclosed, and the quota of core AICs is not fixed. Hercules and German Tank were also the core AICs of NV in the NV30 era, but now they have been downgraded or even withdrawn.

The reason is the reduction in shipments; the highest level is Launch Partner, a product release partner. Becoming NVIDIA's Launch Partner means that the manufacturer can carry out development and technical cooperation, produce samples before the product is released, and be able to release products after the release.

It will be shipped at once, but the level of Launch Partner will change depending on the product. Therefore, becoming a Launch Partner of NVIDIA requires sufficient funds and technical strength, and obtaining this title can also give you a market advantage.

The AIC manufacturer usually refers to the core AIC.

As can be seen from the NVIDIA official website, NVIDIA has 19 core AIC manufacturers. They are: (arranged in alphabetical order) 1 ABIT Computer (USA) Corporation, headquartered in Taiwan.
