The International Mozart Foundation in Salzburg claims that they have recently discovered two pieces of music, which may have been written by Mozart in his early years. This may help people to know more about this talented boy. Ulrich Leisinger, the director of Mozart Research Center, pointed out that one of the two works is a piano solo with 35 bars, and the other is a keyboard concerto with 75 bars. The appraisal results and works were published in Salzburg a few days ago (August 2).
These two works were probably written in 1763 or 1764, when Mozart was seven or eight years old. Compared with many of the early simple works and later masterpieces of this musical prodigy, they may be an important transition for Mozart to succeed.
These two works are scribbled and altered, unlike others' works, and the style is not written by their father Leopold Mozart. Tone sandhi and difficult techniques often appear in music, which is a bit awkward to play. Lessinger pointed out, "It doesn't look like a passage to teach children to practice the piano, but it looks like it was written by someone who has great ambitions but has not been able to complete a masterpiece."
The beginning of the music is piano music in G major (NMA50), and the beginning of 1 minute is concerto movement in G major (NMA5 1). Among them, the orchestral version of Keyboard Concerto in G Major has only the part of keyboard solo because of copyright protection. These two piano pieces were recorded in Mozart's home on August 2nd, and played by Austrian pianist florian Bielsack, who used Mozart's clavichord.
It is worth noting that the abbreviation' NMA' is German "Neue Mozart-Ausgabe" (English "New Mozart Edition"), and Chinese means "New Mozart WorksNo.". Compared with the familiar "Kerscher number" (recorded with "K" or "KV" as the prefix), this NMA number is used to record Mozart's later newly discovered works, such as these two.
