Professor Liu Daoyu has been engaged in education all his life. In his nearly 50-year education career, he was a leader of higher education for 24 years. He persistently studied the theory of educational reform and the theory and practice of creative education, and always paid attention to the problems in China's educational reform and development. With the support of some alumni who graduated from Wuhan University, he founded Wuhan Lushi Education Reform Foundation on 1994. In 2004, the Foundation was re-registered according to the new Regulations on the Management of Foundations promulgated by the State Council, and was officially renamed as Hubei Liu Daoyu Education Foundation upon approval.

Purpose of the Foundation: Actively develop educational public welfare undertakings, promote the implementation and popularization of creative education, reward creative talents, and popularize outstanding achievements in research and education reform.
