Among them, the direct costs include equipment costs, materials costs, testing and processing costs, fuel and power costs, travel expenses, conference fees, international cooperation and exchange fees, publishing/literature/information dissemination/intellectual property affairs fees, labor costs, expert consultation fees and other expenses. Indirect expenses refer to the related expenses that can't be charged in the direct expenses in the process of project organization and implementation, mainly including the existing equipment and houses provided by the supporting units for project research, the consumption of water, electricity, gas and heating, the subsidy expenses related to management expenses, performance expenditures, etc. The subsidy intensity listed in the Guide is the sum of direct costs and indirect costs. The applicant only needs to fill in the direct expenses, and the indirect expenses and project application funds are automatically generated in the application form.
After completing the application, the applicant submits the electronic application and its attachments online, downloads and prints the final PDF version of the application, and ensures that the paper application is consistent with the electronic version. The applicant shall promptly submit the original signed paper application form and other attachments such as relevant certification letter, recommendation letter, commitment letter and original paper materials required by special instructions to the supporting unit.

The supporting unit shall submit its electronic application form and attachment materials before the deadline for project application stipulated by the Natural Science Foundation of China, and submit the original paper application form signed and sealed by the unit and the required paper attachment materials in a unified manner. Please rely on the unit to determine the deadline for receiving project applications according to the actual situation.
2. When submitting the electronic application form, the supporting unit shall confirm it item by item through the "Islamic State" system.
