Natural disaster relief
According to statistics of relevant departments, China is one of the few countries with the most serious natural disaster losses in the world. In a typical year, about 200 million people are affected by disasters in China, and nearly 60 million victims need relief. According to statistics, the direct economic losses of 1998 and 2005 were 300.7 billion yuan and 204.2 billion yuan respectively.
Spread public welfare culture and build a public welfare platform
In order to promote the professional development of public welfare undertakings and public welfare industries in China, One Foundation has launched the annual "One Foundation Public Welfare Award" for its four public welfare areas: environmental protection, education, poverty alleviation and health. The award will select the top funds and charities in China to provide them with financial support to help them continue their work and expand their business scale. At the same time, the One Foundation hopes that through fair and transparent selection, more non-profit organizations can clearly understand the reasons why these non-profit organizations won awards and share and learn from their experiences.
In addition, the One Foundation will hold an "International Charity Forum" every year, inviting global public welfare organizations, well-known enterprises, government officials and researchers to conduct comprehensive exchanges around the four public welfare themes of "environmental protection, education, poverty alleviation and health". The Global Public Welfare Forum aims to provide a valuable platform to strengthen international cooperation in public welfare projects, share their best practices and ideas, improve the public welfare organization system and gather public welfare resources extensively.
All donations raised by One Foundation will go directly to the "One Foundation in Jet Li" account of China Red Cross. In order to ensure the transparency and credibility of charitable funds, Deloitte, one of the four largest accounting firms in the world, will audit the use of donations.
At the same time, quarterly reports will be released every quarter and annual reports will be released every year to introduce the collection and use of the One Foundation to the public in detail, and invite the media and the public to supervise.
