The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) is a syndicate composed of the central banks of Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium and Japan, as well as Morgan Bank, new york and Citibank, representing the interests of the American banking industry. 1930 was established in may according to the Hague international agreement. When it was founded, there were only seven member countries, and now the number of member countries has grown to 4 1. The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) was originally established to deal with the payment of reparations and related liquidation in Germany after the First World War. After World War II, it became a settlement institution among the member countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, and its purpose gradually changed to promote cooperation among central banks of various countries, facilitate international financial business, and accept entrustment or agency to handle international settlement business.
