Wu Lizhu's biography
In 1995, he studied under the tutelage of Academician Tong Zhenhe at the Institute of Photochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and received his doctorate and stayed at the institute.

In 1996, he was promoted to associate researcher, and in 1998, he was promoted to researcher.

From 1997 to 1998, he engaged in postdoctoral research in the Department of Chemistry, University of Hong Kong.

In 2001, he received funding from the National Natural Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and in 2004, he was selected as a "National Candidate for the New Century Talents Project".

In recent years, he has published in core publications at home and abroad: Acc. Chem. Res, J. Am. Chem. Soc., Chem. Eur. J., Org. Lett., Chem. Commun., J. Org. Chem., J. Phys.

Chem., Inorg. Chem., etc. have published more than 80 papers, undertaken a number of key and general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, and participated in the national “973” key basic research development plan and the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ knowledge innovation project.

As the second completer, he won the second prize of the National Natural Science Award in 2005.

He currently serves as an international editorial board member of "Inorganic Chemistry" of the American Chemical Society and a special editor of "Scientific Bulletin".

On December 28, 2007, researcher Wu Lizhu won the China Youth Science and Technology Award at the 20th Anniversary of the China Youth Science and Technology Award and the 10th China Youth Science and Technology Award Ceremony jointly held at the Great Hall of the People.

On March 4, 2009, the Women's Committee of the Institute of Physics and Chemistry and researcher Wu Lizhu of the Institute of Physics and Chemistry Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences won the honorary title of "Top Ten Outstanding Women of the Chinese Academy of Sciences".

On the afternoon of March 12, 2012, as the opening event of the "Cultural Construction Year" series of activities of the Institute of Psychology, and at the same time, in order to celebrate the 102nd "March 8th" International Women's Day, the Women's Committee of the Institute organized a theme of "Women's Contributions"

report meeting.

Lin Wenjuan, researcher at the Institute of Psychology and academician of the Academy of Sciences for Developing Countries, and Wu Lizhu, director and researcher of the Supramolecular Photochemistry Laboratory of the Institute of Physics and Chemistry Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, served as the keynote speakers of this report.

Researcher Wu Lizhu gave a report titled "Advancing with Science and Walking with the Motherland". He first introduced his personal growth experience and the basic situation of the photochemical conversion field he was engaged in, including the research background of photochemical conversion of solar energy, photochemical synthesis and

technology, important photophysical and photochemical processes, etc.

When talking about personal growth insights, she pointed out that women must first achieve self-esteem, self-confidence, self-reliance, and self-improvement.

It is her parents' teachings that "just because she is a girl does not mean she is bad", her family's understanding and support, her mentor's training, and the joint efforts of the laboratory that have enabled her to always adhere to her ideals.

Although scientific research work is monotonous and difficult, the support of her ideals and beliefs enables her to forget about food and sleep and endure loneliness.

Finally, researcher Wu Lizhu encouraged everyone with a speech on scientific research delivered by General Secretary Hu Jintao at the Chinese Academy of Sciences conference.
