Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Foundation has successively funded 87 applied and basic scientific research projects in Chengdu Giant Panda Research Base, Chengdu Zoo and related cooperative scientific research units and universities, among which 42 achievements have won national, provincial (ministerial) and municipal technological invention awards or scientific and technological progress awards; The giant panda breeding research base supported by the construction has become a giant panda research and ex-situ conservation center, with a total of 1 159 cubs, and 55 cubs survived to over half a year old; 1996 The Chengdu Open Laboratory for Breeding and Genetics of Endangered Wild Animals was established by the State Development Planning Commission and the Chengdu Development Planning Commission. The funded Chengdu Giant Panda Museum is the first comprehensive museum with the theme of eco-environmental protection in China, and has now become a national popular science education base. Over the years, the Foundation has also supported and carried out scientific research cooperation and friendly exchanges with many foreign organizations or institutions related to wildlife protection, such as IUCN/SSC/CBSG, Zoological Society of North America (AZA), Zoological Society of North Britain, Zoological Society of Japan, etc., which has greatly promoted the development of rare and endangered animals protection in China.
