1966, Master Yan Zheng was founded in a corner of Hualien, Dongtai Bay Province. At first, thirty housewives saved fifty cents a day and put them in bamboo tubes. Together with five apprentices, each of them increased the output of a pair of baby shoes every day. Tzu Chi was founded in the spirit of self-denial, diligence, frugality and difficulties, and began to take pleasure in helping the poor and pulling out hardships. Tzu Chi's aspirations range from charity to medical care, education and humanities. From remote Hualien to five continents, 47 countries have branches or liaison offices, and so far more than 7 1 countries and regions have received assistance. Tzu Chi volunteers are grateful and sincerely care for and comfort every victim.

With the approval of the State Council, Tzu Chi Charity Foundation set up a foundation in Chinese mainland, becoming the first and only national foundation set up by an overseas non-profit organization. Its listing ceremony was held in Suzhou Jingsi College on August 20th, 20 10.

Although the footprint of compassion has spread all over the world, there are still frequent disasters in the world. The master earnestly urged "too late, too late!" ",call on everyone to speed up the pace, gather the power of kindness and love, practice self-denial together and return to a simple life. Therefore, at the beginning of the forty-first year of Tzu Chi, the master called for "returning to the bamboo tube years" and called on the bodhisattvas on earth to recruit more students, speed up the pace of purifying people's hearts and start a journey to save suffering. Invite all good people in the world to join hands with Fukuda; Diligent pistachio lotus, a club that makes love together. Pray that we will work together to achieve the goal of purifying people's hearts, achieving social harmony and saving the world from disaster.

Tzu Chi volunteers adhere to the inner cultivation of "sincerity, integrity and faithfulness". The layman's concept of "kindness, sadness, happiness and abandonment", with the humanistic feelings of "people hurt me, people suffer and I grieve", transcends the boundaries of race, country, language, skin color and religious belief, and pursues the ambition of entering the WTO with the spirit of being born, which not only makes "great love" a universal value, but also brings the humanistic spirit in China's cultural heritage into full play.

Tzu Chi volunteers promote charity, medical care, education and humanities, which are collectively called the "four great ambitions"; In addition, bone marrow donor, environmental protection, community volunteers and overseas disaster relief have also been put into operation, and these eight items have been promoted at the same time, which is called "one step and eight printing methods".
