1957 was born in Shenyang, Liaoning. 1988 graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Xi 'an Academy of Fine Arts with a master's degree. 199 1 went to the art department of Mainz University in Germany for further study. He studied under Professor Klaus You Ergen-Fischer's studio, and is now a professor and postgraduate tutor in the Experimental Art Department of Beijing Central Academy of Fine Arts. In more than 20 years, Zhang Guolong has participated in almost all the important exhibitions in China, and his works have been widely collected by Chinese and foreign art galleries, foundations and important collectors. He is one of the most important representative artists in the field of comprehensive material painting in China.
