The Washington Convention is a convention to protect biodiversity. Four animal protection conventions to which China is a party. Brief introduction of Washington convention

CITES Convention was signed in Washington, D.C. on March 3, 1973. Its purpose is to protect wildlife species from over-exploitation and utilization brought by international trade. China is the 63rd contracting party of CITES, and the Convention came into effect on April 8th, 198 1. Twenty-seven member units, including the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, form an inter-ministerial joint conference system to combat illegal wildlife trade.

Eight social groups including china wildlife conservation association, china wildlife conservation association, International Wildlife Trade Research Organization, International Wildlife Conservation Society, International Animal Welfare Foundation, World Wide Fund for Nature, wildaid, Natural Resources Conservation Association and relevant personnel from China NGOs attended the forum.
