The applicant's place of residence must be within the provinces and cities approved by the Ministry of Education to enroll Macao higher education institutions in the Mainland.
Bachelor's degree courses: Must have a high school graduation or an educational level equivalent to a high school graduation, and must participate in the 2011 National Unified College Entrance Examination organized by each province and city, with scores above the first batch of undergraduate admission scores in the province and city, and will be admitted on a merit-based basis.
English requirements: Applicants must have a score of 110 or above in the English subject of the college entrance examination (calculated based on a 150-point system for English single subject, and other scoring systems will be adjusted accordingly). Last year, the score line in Beijing was 494. The University of Macau is free of charge and has a special annual scholarship.
The University of Macau has set up a fully-free scholarship to reward mainland freshmen to enroll in the university's undergraduate courses. Students receiving the scholarship will be exempted from tuition and accommodation fees for the whole year. The quota is limited to 20 students.
Freshmen who receive scholarships with a grade point average of 3.0 or above each academic year can continue to receive scholarships in the second, third, and fourth academic years, up to four academic years.
Macau Foundation Scholarship The Macau Foundation Scholarship is awarded to mainland undergraduate freshmen, with an annual scholarship of MOP 30,000, limited to 5 students.
Freshmen who receive scholarships with a grade point average of 3.0 or above in each academic year can continue to receive scholarships in the second, third, and fourth academic years, up to four academic years (each student is entitled to MOP 120,000 for four academic years***).
The evaluation principles for the above two scholarships are based on the applicants' scores in the college entrance examination. Students do not need to apply separately when registering.
When making admissions, the school will select the best applicants based on their college entrance examination scores that year.
Applicants who receive scholarships will be notified by the school by phone before the admission results are announced online. After the students are confirmed, the school will send the "Admission Notice" and scholarship notification.
Admissions procedures are the same as for other applicants.
