Strictly speaking, the fund qualification certificate expires in four years. Candidates who have passed the fund qualification examination can apply to China Asset Management Association for fund qualification registration within four years through their institutions. Those who have not applied for fund qualification registration through institutions for more than four years need to complete the follow-up training hours specified in the last two years or re-take the qualification examination before registration.

"People's Republic of China (PRC) Securities Investment Fund Law" stipulates that fund practitioners should have the qualification of fund practice. Since 2003, the qualification examination for fund practitioners, as a part of the qualification examination system for securities practitioners, has been organized and implemented by China Securities Association. It was not until the end of 20 15 and 1 June that the qualification examination for fund practitioners was officially handed over from the Securities Industry Association to the China Asset Management Association.
