According to the "Guidelines for the Selection of Overseas Students Funded by the National Fund for Studying Abroad", the National Fund for Studying Abroad plans to select 2,300 overseas students this year. This selection follows the principles of "individual application, expert evaluation, fair competition, merit-based admission, contract dispatch and compensation for breach of contract". The selection personnel are divided into senior visiting scholars and visiting scholars. The conditions for applying for a senior visiting scholar are: the applicant should have a senior professional title, not over 55 years old, and have a considerable academic, scientific research and technical level. To apply for the visiting scholar program (including advanced students), employees under 50 years old and with college education or above are required. Encourage all departments and universities to recommend the backbone personnel of their own departments, regions and units to declare. Applicants are encouraged to declare according to the ninth five-year plan of the state, focusing on the priority areas of economic construction and social development of departments, localities and units, national industrial policies and key basic scientific research projects, key engineering construction projects, high-tech and key scientific and technological research projects or fields.
