Why should the fund restrict large subscription?
Monetary funds and short-term and medium-term debt funds suspend large-scale subscription mainly to prevent large institutions from buying arbitrage by surprise. During the Spring Festival holiday or Golden Week holiday, in the last day or two before the market closes, a large number of institutions idle funds to buy money funds. These funds have taken a fancy to the fact that money funds have a better level of income than bank savings or repurchase. Under the background of high enthusiasm for fund subscription, the sudden and substantial increase of fund scale will bring great difficulties to the investment operation of the fund to a certain extent. Considering the interests of fund holders and balancing risk control and the sustainability of fund performance, fund managers dynamically limit the subscription amount of funds they manage according to the growth of the total fund share, that is, when the total fund share reaches a certain scale, they will suspend subscription at different time periods, which will be more conducive to protecting the interests of the majority of holders, fund investment operation and fund performance improvement.
