Since the candidates for the "Science and Technology Achievement Award" have not yet met the conditions stipulated in the Fund's Charter, in order to ensure the authority of the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Award and the consistency of the selection criteria, after discussion by the Selection Committee, a secret ballot was adopted in 2001 and 2002.

There is no winner of the "Science and Technology Achievement Award". This award has been vacant for the second time since the foundation of the fund.
