The National Social Science Fund, like the National Natural Science Fund established by 1986, is the main channel to support basic research in scientific research field in China. Facing the whole country, we will focus on funding researchers in universities and research institutions with good scientific research conditions and strong scientific research strength.
Third, development achievements.
1. Since the establishment of the National Social Science Fund, with the great attention of the CPC Central Committee and the strong support of relevant parties, the total amount of the fund has been increasing, its coverage and influence have been expanding, and disciplines and projects have been expanding.
2. The project management system is becoming more and more perfect, a large number of in-depth and weighty research results have been launched, and a large number of solid academic leaders have been trained. The guidance, authority and demonstration role of the national social science fund projects are becoming more and more obvious.
3. According to statistics, the total fund amount increased from 5 million yuan per year at the beginning of its establishment to 600 million yuan in 20 10, and the number of annual project applications increased from less than 3,000 to 27 17 1 funded projects.
4. From less than 500 items per year to 2,285 items in 20 10, the number of experts in discipline group increased from 200 in 1992 to more than 800, and the number of peer review experts reached15,000.
5. Since its establishment, the National Social Science Fund has invested a total of 2.65 billion yuan, funded 24,283 projects of various types, and launched more than 45,000 research achievements, of which more than 3,500 achievements have been awarded at or above the provincial and ministerial levels.
