A window to go abroad

1. Those who have obtained doctoral degrees at home and abroad, studied abroad for more than one year, and are under the age of 45, and are engaged in teaching and scientific research in teaching and scientific research institutions after returning home can apply for the research start-up fund for returned overseas students of the Ministry of Education within two years after returning home.

2. Qualified returned overseas students, confirmed by the scientific research management department of their own unit, directly log on to the website "Application for Starting Fee for Studying Abroad" channel, fill in and submit the application materials, and then send the application form stamped by their own unit to the return place of the study abroad service center of the Ministry of Education, together with a copy of the doctoral degree certificate, a copy of the Certificate of Returned Overseas Students issued by the embassy (consulate) and a copy of their ID card.

3. In addition to the start-up funds for overseas students from the Ministry of Education, many provinces, municipalities and ministries have set up special funds for overseas students to return to China. For example, the National Natural Science Foundation of China provides special funds for overseas students to return to China for short-term work and lectures, the Ministry of Personnel provides preferential funding for scientific and technological activities of overseas students returning from non-education system, the Interim Measures of the Ministry of Personnel for subsidizing overseas students to return to China for short-term work in non-education system, the China Academy of Sciences provides preferential support for overseas students to return to China, the science and technology fund for overseas students returning from coal system, and the research fund for overseas students returning from Shanghai.
