dlpu: Dalian University of Technology Dalian University of Technology was founded in 1958. It is one of the first four light industry colleges in China. It was originally affiliated to the Ministry of Light Industry. In 1998, it was transformed into a system established by the central and local governments and managed by Liaoning Province.

In March 2007, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was renamed from Dalian Institute of Light Industry to Dalian University of Technology.
