The mission of Li Ka-shing Foundation is to promote the society to establish the basic force of "dedication culture". The foundation mainly donates money to public welfare undertakings such as education, medical care and culture. Li Ka-shing hopes to strengthen human and cultural resources through education and build a caring society through medical projects.
June 5438+October 2005 10, Li Ka-shing sold the shares of Imperial Commercial Bank of Canada at the price of1200 million Canadian dollars (about 7.8 billion Hong Kong dollars) and established the "Li Ka-shing (Canada) Foundation" headquartered in Toronto, Canada.

By 2005, the Li Ka-shing Foundation and other charitable funds under Li Ka-shing had donated a total of HK$ 7.6 billion.

○ 1997 and Peking University 100, the Li Ka-shing Foundation donated 100 million dollars to Peking University Library to support the construction of the new library.
○ 1999, Li Ka-shing Foundation donated HK$ 40 million to The Open University of Hong Kong, and named the continuing and community education center of Shun Tak Center as Li Ka-shing Institute of Professional and Continuing Education.
○ In the 2004 South Asian tsunami, Li Ka-shing donated $3 million to the victims through its Hutchison Whampoa and Li Ka-shing Foundation.
○ On May 7th, 2005, Li Ka-shing donated HK$ 654.38 billion to the Medical College of the University of Hong Kong through the Li Ka-shing Foundation. On June 654.38+1October 654.38+0, 2006, the University of Hong Kong announced that the medical college would be named Li Ka-shing Medical College of the University of Hong Kong, which made some medical college alumni object to the naming.
○ On June 5th, 2005, at 438+00, the Foundation and Hutchison Whampoa jointly donated US$ 500,000 to the earthquake victims in Pakistan.
