1. major
The school is a university of science and engineering, with many science majors. As of March 2020, the college has four departments, including communication engineering department, electronic information engineering department, information engineering department and electronic science and technology department, and has four undergraduate majors. It covers two first-class disciplines: information and communication engineering and electronic science and technology, among which information and communication engineering is a key discipline in Hubei Province, with doctoral programs and postdoctoral research stations.
2. Construction achievements
Thanks to the efforts of teachers and classmates, school teaching has achieved fruitful results. In recent years, the college has undertaken 69 national "973" and "863" plans, major national support projects, national natural science funds (key projects, international cooperation and exchange projects, general projects), national defense pre-research projects, major scientific and technological key projects of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Communications and Hubei Province, with an average annual research funding of more than 20 million yuan.
3. Teaching staff
The school has strong teachers, high professional quality and patience with students. As of March, 2020, the School of Information Engineering has 107 teachers, including China Academy of Engineering 1 person, Russian Academy of Engineering 1 person, national "Ten Thousand Talents Program" 1 person, national famous teachers 1 person, 89 professors and associate professors, and doctoral students.
