During the centralized reception of project applications in 2015, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (hereinafter referred to as the Natural Science Foundation of China) received 165,598 applications for various projects submitted by supporting institutions.

In accordance with the "National Natural Science Foundation Regulations", "2015 National Natural Science Foundation Project Guidelines", "2015 National Natural Science Foundation Project Application and Finalization Announcement and Other Related Matters" and the National Natural Science Foundation related types of project management measures, etc.

According to regulations, the Natural Science Foundation of China conducted a preliminary review of project applications.

After preliminary review, the Natural Science Foundation of China accepted 162,439 project applications and rejected 3,159 project applications.

The Natural Science Foundation of China will send paper notices of preliminary review results to all host institutions, and will also notify applicants whose projects will not be accepted by email.

Hosting units can log in to the Science Fund Network Information System (ISIS System) to check the acceptance status of their unit's project applications.

If the applicant has any questions about the decision not to accept the application, he or she can consult the relevant science department; if he has any objection to the decision not to accept the application, he or she can submit a review application to the relevant science department before May 19, 2015.
