adamantane

CAS:[28 1-23-2]

Content: ≥99.0%

Appearance: white crystal

The molecular formula of an alicyclic hydrocarbon is C 10H 16. The arrangement of carbon atoms in the molecule is equivalent to the arrangement of some carbon atoms in the diamond lattice. It exists in oil, and its content is about four parts per million. Colorless crystal, with highly symmetrical structure and nearly spherical molecules, can be closely packed in the lattice. The melting point is 268℃ (sealed tube), which is the highest among alkanes, and the relative density is 1.07. Easy to crystallize. Hydrogen (i.e. 1, 3, 5, 7) on carbon atoms at the bridgehead is prone to substitution reaction. For example, adamantane reacts with excess bromine to generate 1- bromoadamantane; React with nitrogen dioxide at 175℃ to generate 1- nitroadamantane; Oxidized with chromium trioxide and acetic acid to produce 1- adamantanol. Adamantane can also be prepared by isomerization of tetrahydrodicyclopentadiene in the presence of aluminum trichloride. Its derivatives can be used as medicines, such as 1- aminoadamantane hydrochloride and 1- amantadine hydrochloride, and can prevent and treat influenza caused by A2 virus.
