2001June 12, the inaugural meeting of the Young and Middle-aged Expert Committee of China Human Rights Development Foundation was held in Beijing. The meeting elected the person in charge of the Committee and defined the purpose and task of the Committee. The first batch of young and middle-aged expert committees has 60 members, mainly from government agencies, universities, scientific research, justice, journalism and other departments and units. Lin Yifu, member of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and director of China Economic Research Center of Peking University, was elected as the director of the Committee. The meeting adopted the "Organizational Measures for the Young and Middle-aged Expert Committee of the China Human Rights Development Foundation" and set up a secretariat to study and assign tasks. Lin Bocheng, Vice President and Secretary General of the Foundation, presided over the meeting. On behalf of the Foundation, Xiao Ping, Vice President, congratulated the establishment of the Committee and expressed hope. Executive Vice President Yang Zhengquan and Vice President Wang Yanfeng attended the meeting.
On March 9, 2000109, the Academic Committee of the China Foundation for Human Rights Development was established, and its director was a famous historian, philosopher and director of the National Library of China. Subsequently, on the basis of collecting human rights research topics from relevant units across the country, the Association approved a number of annual research topics, such as: research on the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, research on Americans' view of human rights, cult crime and human rights protection, new features of international human rights struggle under economic globalization, and differences in understanding of World War II between Japan and Germany.
On 2001April 16, the Senior Expert Advisory Committee of China Human Rights Development Foundation was established. Huang Hua, honorary president of the Foundation, delivered a speech and expressed hope. The Committee has nearly 20 members, including Wu Jieping, Zhu Guangya, Ren, Li Yining, Bai Chunli and Chen.
