The most expensive incense stick in Shaolin Temple is 1, yuan
Take stock of those temples that have been "played badly" by commercialization
. It is really courageous for Panlong Temple on the east bank of Dianchi Lake in Yunnan Province to resist the commercialization of the government by closing its doors. However, the commercialization of monasteries is not uncommon. At present, monasteries of all sizes in China are facing the phenomenon of commercialization. The following small series will take stock of those monasteries that have been commercialized.
Netease Tourism is comprehensively compiled and released. Please indicate the source for reprinting.
According to the Spring City Evening News, on the morning of 15th, Panlong Temple on the east bank of Dianchi Lake in Yunnan closed its doors to thank guests. Monks posted notices at the temple gate, saying that because the government of Jinning County and Jincheng Town wanted to commercialize and corporatize Panlong Temple, which disturbed the normal order of Panlong Temple, the temple decided to temporarily close the mountain gate, so tourists could only burn incense at the gate of Panlong Temple. On the afternoon of 17th, the Propaganda Department of Jinning County Committee of Kunming issued a notice saying that after communicating with the temple, the other party cleared up the misunderstanding and reopened the temple gate at noon on 17th. At the same time, the circular stated that the temple will not be commercialized or corporatized in the future.
The following are some monasteries that have been "played badly" by commercialization in China:
Shaolin Temple's "incense interest chain"
A column of incense was found in Shaolin Temple, and the most expensive was 1, yuan. Burning incense became burning money. It must be said that Shaolin Temple has embarked on an increasingly commercialized road. Shi Yongxin, the abbot of Shaolin Temple, under his successful management, Shaolin Temple has become the pillar of Dengfeng's tourism economy.

Shi Yongxin, abbot of Shaolin Temple, said in an interview with the media that "our future rivers and lakes are the world market, and I am very confident about this. The commercialization of Shaolin Temple is a good trend. " The leaders of Dengfeng once painted such a picture: "Through the implementation of the Shaolin Kungfu Revival Project, we will make every effort to build a Zen Wushu cultural industrial park supported by martial arts performing arts, kungfu animation and other industries, and implement the construction of key cultural industrial projects such as the international Chinese promotion Shaolin Wushu base, and truly make Dengfeng the Kung Fu capital of the world." A few words, several references to "industry".
Tickets: After May 25, the ticket price of Shaolin Scenic Area increased from 4 to 1, and the share of Shaolin Temple increased from 1 yuan to 3. However, in the west gate of Shaolin Temple, there is a merit box, which can also be used to put the marching temple with 3 yuan's money. Both 3 yuan, who shared the tickets, and 3 yuan, who paid by himself, are the main sources of income for Shaolin Temple. According to official figures, there are about 1.5 million tourists in Shaolin Temple every year.

Merit money: Besides tickets, incense money is also an important part of Shaolin Temple's income. It is reported that in 27, Shaolin Temple's tickets and incense money totaled 5 million. Although the high incense has been cancelled and replaced by free incense, some monks still persuade tourists to leave sesame oil money for chanting and praying, at a rate of 1 yuan per person. As for the support donations of believers, the amount is even more difficult to test.
Entity: In addition to the three companies under Shi Yongxin's name, Shaolin Temple also founded several companies.
naming rights auction in Hokkeji
In July 211, Beijing Jiashikai Auction Company claimed that it would auction the naming rights of Hokkeji, a thousand-year-old temple in Hangzhou, on July 28th. Relevant departments in Hangzhou said on July 14th that the auction had been stopped. The incident caused widespread concern among netizens.
Hokkeji is located in Fahua Mountain, north of north peak, Xihu District, Hangzhou. It is separated from Lingyin Temple on the north and south sides of the peak. It has a history of about 1,7 years and was built in the Eastern Jin Dynasty. It is one of the oldest monasteries in China. Unfortunately, it was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution. In 1999, it was rebuilt by the Zhejiang Buddhist Association and the former Dongyue Village Committee (now Dongyue Community) and was completed in 23. The rebuilt Hokkeji covers an area of 1 mu and is an important place for religious activities in the west of Hangzhou.
But such a thousand-year-old temple may become a famous commercial brand. In June, Beijing Jiashikai International Auction Company announced that it would hold the "China's first temple naming rights auction" in Beijing on July 28th. The auction items are very special, and they are two naming rights of Hokkeji, the most famous temple in Hangzhou.
for a while, people talked about it: temples are places of practice, but also need commercial titles? The naming right of this auction is not the main part in Hokkeji, but its Fahua Academy and Fahua Health Center, of which the latter is an enterprise, with a starting price of 5, yuan respectively, and the starting price of the two naming rights is 1 million yuan.
Famen Temple in Shaanxi: Ming Jian Scenic Area Concealed Real Estate
12km west of Xi 'an, Shaanxi Province, a Famen Temple scenic area covering an area of 1,3 mu is located in the north of Fufeng County. The Famen Temple, which was rumored to be interested in listing, has become a deformed commercial sample under the advocacy of "building a stage with religion and singing opera with economy".
From the entrance of Famen Temple Cultural Scenic Area to the Heshi stupa, all kinds of stalls selling souvenirs such as opening treasures, bracelets and beads are almost everywhere. There are 1 giant buddhas on Yanfoguang Avenue, and the price of each Buddha statue is as high as 1 million, which is just one of all kinds of expensive offerings. At the incense place in front of the folded stupa, the price of a box of incense is as high as 199 yuan, and a lotus wax lamp is presented. At the same time, there are other projects such as interpreting scriptures, copying scriptures, offering Buddha lanterns, etc.
There is also an organization called Shaanxi Famen Temple Charity Foundation everywhere. On the merit box in front of each Buddha statue in the scenic spot, the words "Shaanxi Famen Temple Charity Foundation" are written. In front of the folded stupa, the staff of this organization constantly publicized to the tourists through the radio: "If you donate 1 yuan, you will carve a merit monument and leave your name on the spot, and at the same time, there will be a carved treasure for you, so that everyone can learn about it." The reporter found on the spot that many tourists donated money here, and the staff also carved the name of the donor on the stone monument behind them.
I hope to adopt it with satisfaction.
