At present, the Federation of Hong Kong Federation of Sports Associations and Olympic Committees has 74 members (that is, local sports associations), who are the spokespersons of sports in Hong Kong. In addition, the structure of the SFOC is very streamlined, with 1 chairman and 8 vice-chairmen, plus 1 honorary secretary-general, 2 honorary deputy secretaries-general and 1 honorary treasurer to form the leadership of the SFOC.
As the national Olympic Committee, the Association is committed to the development and promotion of sports, managed by volunteers, and abides by the regulations of the Association. The 74 members of the Hong Kong Federation and Olympic Committee are actually members of international sports federations and Asian sports federations. National sports associations have the right to organize and manage local activities of their sports, such as organizing sports events, training activities for beginners and excellent athletes, organizing and selecting athletes to participate in local and international competitions, and training coaches and referees.
Through this association, Hong Kong's elite athletes can benefit from the Olympic Solidarity Scholarship to finance their local and overseas training. In addition, under the recommendation of IFs and sports federations, coaches with outstanding performance can have the opportunity to receive high-level training overseas after being nominated by the International Olympic Committee. In 20001and 2003, President Huo Zhenting was also elected as a member of the International Olympic Committee and was re-elected as the vice-president of the Olympic Council of Asia. In 2002, Secretary-General Peng Chong and Vice President Feng were elected as members of the Culture and Education Committee and the Women's Committee of the OCA respectively.
The volunteer staff of the Hong Kong Federation and Olympic Committee and various sports associations are all voluntary and have professional knowledge and understanding of the sports field they are responsible for. They also defend the autonomy of the National Olympic Committee and the National Sports Association to ensure that Hong Kong people can enjoy high-quality sports and leisure activities. On June 5438+065438+ 10, 2003, Hong Kong successfully bid for the 2009 East Asian Games, which turned a new page for the sports industry in Hong Kong.
