The Department of Civil Engineering offers an undergraduate major in Geology and Mining (Engineering), Geological Engineering; an undergraduate major in Geography (Science), Resources, Environment and Urban and Rural Planning Management; and an undergraduate major in Civil Engineering (Engineering), Civil Engineering (geotechnical engineering direction).
1) Geological Engineering Major: Originally the hydrogeology and engineering geology major, it was founded in 1958.
At present, this major mainly offers two professional directions: engineering geology and environmental geology.
2) Resources, Environment and Urban-Rural Planning and Management Major: This is a new major applied for in 2002 based on the demand for talents in the urbanization process and the development of small towns, as well as the school-running conditions of our school.
3) Civil Engineering Major (Geotechnical Engineering Direction): Founded in 1994.
2. Undergraduate majors in geoscience-related disciplines. North China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower also offers: water conservancy and hydropower engineering, hydrology and water resources engineering, civil engineering (industrial and civil construction, road and bridge engineering, etc.), water supply and drainage engineering, and environmental engineering.
and other undergraduate majors related to earth science.
3. Geoscience graduate disciplines and postgraduate disciplines in related disciplines are established. The geoscience graduate disciplines of North China Institute of Water Conservancy and Hydropower include a geological engineering master's degree (authorized in 1992).
Postgraduate disciplines related to geoscience include hydraulic structural engineering (one of the first degree-granting sites in the country), hydrology and water resources (obtained degree-granting rights in 1998), and geotechnical engineering (obtained degree-granting rights in 2003).
Master's degree subjects.
Geological engineering, hydraulic structural engineering, hydrology and water resources also have the right to award master's degrees with equivalent academic qualifications, and the right to award master's degrees in engineering in the fields of geological engineering and water conservancy and hydropower engineering.
4. Current status of the geological teaching team 1. Current status of the teaching team The Department of Geotechnical Engineering currently has 42 teachers, and has formed a teaching team with a reasonable structure of age, academic qualifications, and professional titles (see the table below for details).
There are 11 master's degree tutors, mainly engaged in four research directions: geotechnical engineering mechanics, hydrogeology, environmental engineering geology, foundation and basic engineering.
