Yao Kaitai's field of work
He has been engaged in tumor pathophysiology research for a long time and is in an international leading position in the study of the pathogenesis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. He has successively undertaken more than 30 national key research projects in the Sixth Five-Year Plan, the Seventh Five-Year Plan and the Eighth Five-Year Plan, the projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, the research projects of the Chinese Medical Foundation (CMB) in the United States, and the research projects of the State Education Commission, the Ministry of Health, the Provincial Science and Technology Department, the Education Commission and the Health Department. In 1970s, it was confirmed for the first time in the world that nitrosamine chemical carcinogens had certain organ affinity to nasopharyngeal epithelium. In 1980s, it was found that dinitrosopiperazine was pro-rat nasopharyngeal epithelium, which led to DNA damage of rat nasopharyngeal epithelium. A stable culture method of human embryonic nasopharyngeal epithelial cells was established, and the malignant transformation of normal human embryonic nasopharyngeal epithelial cells was successfully induced by dinitropyrazine. A human nasopharyngeal carcinoma epithelial cell line with latent infection of EB virus was established for the first time, and the genome of EB virus in this cell line was studied. It was found that it was different from two standard EBV strains, B-95-8 and P3HR- 1, which provided a new exploration direction for the relationship between NPC and EBV virus. He won 9 prizes, including the Achievement Award of the National Science and Technology Conference, the Second Prize of Scientific and Technological Achievements of the State Education Commission, the Second Prize of National Scientific and Technological Progress, the Second Prize of the Ministry of Health and the First Prize of Provincial Scientific and Technological Progress. Published papers 100.
