According to the school directories of the 985 Project and the 211 Project, the University of Nanhua is not included in the directories of these two projects.

The University of Nanhua is located in Hengyang City, Hunan Province. It is a multidisciplinary university (established in 1958) established in May 2000 by the merger of Central South Institute of Technology, formerly affiliated with the Ministry of Nuclear Industry, and Hengyang Medical College, formerly affiliated with Hunan Province.

In October 2002, the Sixth Institute of Nuclear Industry, formerly affiliated to the Ministry of Nuclear Industry, was merged into the University of Nanhua.
