On the northwest border of China, there is a slender corridor connecting China, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Tajikistan. This 400-kilometer-long slender corridor is the Wakhan Corridor, which is very famous in history and now. Historically, in the Tang Dynasty, we called it the Green Ridge Ancient Road.

This is also the only way for Master Xuanzang, a monk in the Tang Dynasty, to learn about the ancient Silk Road in ancient India and China. However, in 1963, we only recovered less than 100 km in the border demarcation negotiations between China and Afghanistan, and the remaining 300 km of the Wakhan Corridor was allocated to Afghanistan.

In this region, due to the existence of this corridor, China has land borders with Pakistan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan. But in fact, this corridor and even the whole Pamirs, where this corridor is located, were all China's territory in the Qing Dynasty, but they were privately divided by Russian and British-Indian companies just before the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895. Due to the weak national strength, the Qing dynasty was beyond its reach and could do nothing but protest.
