Xi 'an Academy of Fine Arts, founded in 1949, is one of the eight professional fine arts colleges in China and the only higher art college in northwest China. Its predecessor was Northwest Military and Political University Art School, and its first president was Marshal He Long. In July 1949, he moved from Linfen, Shanxi Province to xingguo temple, the southern suburb of Xi 'an, and was renamed Northwest Art Institute. In 196, it was named Xi 'an Academy of Fine Arts; In 1995, it was moved from xingguo temple in Chang 'an District to the south section of Hanguang Road in Xi 'an.
