Information about Dazang Temple
The Dazang Temple Foundation is one of the charitable organizations under the International Buddhist Federation. It was registered as a non-profit tax-exempt institution in Hong Kong on 1997. The purpose of Dazang Temple Foundation is to promote spiritual culture, rebuild dilapidated temples in China, establish a complete Sangha education, implement poverty alleviation and assistance programs in remote areas of China, provide free or low-cost medical services in remote areas, and publish books related to Buddhism and Buddhist culture.

The free medical service of Foxintang is a charity project of Dazang Temple Foundation. Efforts are being made to open free clinics in poor mountainous areas to provide basic diagnosis, treatment and medicine for residents in poor mountainous areas of China. Foxintang also plans to open a number of small clinics and mobile medical vehicles in mountainous areas, provide free Tibetan medicine and western medicine treatment services to villages in need, and also fund Tibetan medicine training.

Since its establishment, the Foundation has been cooperating with Sichuan Dazang Temple, Sichuan Xiadu Temple, Lhasa Sera Temple Jiarong Hall and India Sera Temple Taste Hall to provide appropriate education, living and medical resources for monks, including providing long-term food and education for all monks in Dazang Temple, Xiadu Temple and India Sera Temple Taste Hall Jiarong Hall, and injecting hepatitis antibody vaccine for more than 500 monks in India Sera Temple Taste Hall. From time to time, the Foundation also provides living and educational funds for many Nepalese colleges in Lhasa.
