He Manchao, born on May 24th, 1956 in lingbao city, Henan Province, is an expert in rock mechanics in mining engineering, an academician of China Academy of Sciences, a professor at China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing), a doctoral supervisor, and the director of the State Key Laboratory of Deep Geotechnical Mechanics and Underground Engineering.
In p>1977, He Manchao was admitted to the Engineering Geology Department of the Hydraulic Engineering Department of Changchun Institute of Geology, and obtained a bachelor's degree and a master's degree successively. After graduating from master's degree in 1985, he stayed in school to teach for one year; In 1986, he was admitted to the Department of Mechanics of China University of Mining and Technology. He Manchao put forward the concepts and classification of "slow-change" and "sudden-change" large deformation disasters from the perspective of control in the study of large deformation mechanism of mine engineering rock mass; The laws of softening, large deformation, strength attenuation and escape of adsorbed gas caused by underground high temperature and high humidity environment are revealed. The whole process of rockburst is reproduced in the laboratory for the first time, and it is concluded that the strength of rockburst is determined by the compressive elastic energy of high stress rock mass and the rockburst mode is controlled by the occurrence of structural plane.
In the theory and technology of large deformation control of mine rock mass, He Manchao put forward the concept of constant resistance and large deformation support to effectively control the large deformation disaster of mine engineering rock mass under constant support resistance; A new material of constant resistance and large deformation anchor (cable) with negative Poisson's ratio effect is developed. The structural mechanical model of constant resistance and large deformation supporting material is established, and the energy balance equation of interaction with engineering rock mass is deduced. A new method of "constant resistance and large deformation bolt high prestress support with reserved deformation" is put forward, which realizes the controlled release of deformation energy of mine rock mass. Through the underground industrial test, the mechanism of effective control of impact damage by constant resistance and large deformation support is revealed, and a new method of comprehensive control of rockburst is put forward by cutting ahead, releasing energy of hard roof, mining without coal pillar, avoiding stress concentration and releasing structural stress.
With regard to the experimental research of control theory and technology, He Manchao has developed experimental systems related to the physical and mechanical properties of underground rock mass, large deformation failure mode and disaster control technology, all of which have won national invention patents, and attracted many foreign experts from China, such as the United States, Canada and Italy, to cooperate in the laboratory research.
