Zhu Ziqing buys books on clothes
Yang Jianmin
Although Mr. Zhu Ziqing is famous for his prose, he later taught in universities for a long time, teaching courses such as Selected Poems (based on Ancient Poems), Ballads, Tao Yuanming's Poems and New Literature Research. He has published literary and artistic criticisms such as Miscellaneous Poems, Standards and Metres, Poems Expressing Ambition, Appreciation of Elegance and Vulgarity, and Classic Talk. His academic research works have profound academic attainments. This thick accumulation of literature seems to be attributed to that generation of scholars. This accumulation is naturally related to their reading and love of books.
When Zhu Ziqing was in middle school, he liked reading very much. At that time, his family gave him one yuan of pocket money every month, and he gave most of it to a Guangyi bookstore in his hometown, and he often owed money. It was from this publishing house that he got a book, Buddhism Yi Jie, which aroused his interest in philosophy.
After studying in Peking University, his major was philosophy, and Zhu Ziqing liked Buddhist books even more. At that time, most of the Buddhist scriptures were in Jiufeng Temple, the Sleeping Buddha Temple in Xicheng. He once went to the temple to buy books such as Theory of Getting Right Because of Ming Dynasty, Theory of Learning from Hundred Ways, and Collection of Translation Names. It was a gloomy autumn afternoon, and Zhu Ziqing was alone in the street. Later, when he recalled in his article, he said, "This stupidity is quite interesting to recall."
192 was Zhu Ziqing's last year in college. Once, he went to Liulichang to visit the bookstore, and saw a new edition of Webster Dictionary in Huayang Bookstore, which was priced at 14 yuan. Although the money is not too expensive for this big book, it is not a small sum for a student. I don't have so much money at hand, but I really can't bear to part with the book. After thinking about it, my own leather coat is worth some money.
My father made this coat for Zhu Ziqing when he got married. It is made of otter collar and sable. Although the coat is made of cloth, the style is a bit rustic, and the collar is pieced together with two pairs of "horseshoe sleeves", but it is leather after all. When making it, my father also spent a lot of effort. But at that time, I really couldn't bear to part with the "big dictionary", and I thought that I would be able to redeem my coat in the future. After hesitating for a long time, I resolutely took it to the pawnshop.
the pawnshop is at the back door of the school, and you can turn around. Zhu Ziqing didn't think too much. Because I wanted to redeem it in the future, I took the book price as the price: 14 yuan. Of course, the coat is more than this price, so the people on the pawnshop counter are not embarrassed at all and pay immediately.
Take the money, and Zhu Ziqing immediately went to bring back the Webster Dictionary. Unexpectedly, the great coat, which cost my father a lot of effort, was not redeemed at last.
After graduating from college, Zhu Ziqing taught in middle schools in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, and was later hired as a professor in the Chinese Department of Tsinghua University. One winter was so cold that Zhu Ziqing didn't have the strength to sew a cotton gown, so he went to the street and bought a felt cloak for the groom. There are two kinds of this kind of cloak. One is better in style and soft in fine hair, but expensive. Zhu Ziqing can't afford it, so he bought a rough but cheaper one.
This felt cloak was so conspicuous that it became a symbol of the poverty of the professor's life, so that it appeared in the writings of friends who recalled Zhu Ziqing many times later. However, it blocked the cold for Zhu Ziqing to attend classes in the city, and laid a mattress at night, although it was quite sad to say. At this time, think again about the leather cloak that can't be redeemed, which makes people feel more obsessed with books.

Qiu Jin and Xinshi
Qiu Jin (.1875-.197), whose name is Xuanqing and her name is Jingxiong, was a famous female revolutionary in the late Qing Dynasty. She was born in Shanyin, Zhejiang Province, and was well versed in classics, history and engineering, and then went to Japan to study abroad. China Women's Newspaper was founded and the Guangfu Army was organized, which made great contributions to overthrowing the Manchu dynasty. In 197, she organized the Zhejiang-Anhui Uprising, but the story leaked and the hero died. However, her trip to the new city was little known.
Qiu Jin has a close girlfriend named Xu Zihua, whose name is Qian Hui. She married in Nanxun Town, Anxian County, and worked as an inspector (principal) at Xunxi Girls' School in this town. And Qiu Jin. After returning from Japan in the spring of 196, he also taught in the school. Comrade Xiang Sui made Qiu Jin and Xu Zihua close friends, and Xu Zihua once gave Qiu Jin more than twenty taels of gold to engage in revolutionary activities. Xu Zihua was born in Shimen Town, Chongde County (now Chongfu Town), a scholarly family, living in Ximen Yizhitang (Jinshi). Xu Zihua's cousin, Xu Yunhua, was married to Cao Jia, a new town in Deqing County. Her husband, Cao Yupu, is a former delicate talent, and her poems and articles are all refined. Xu Zihua and Xu Yunhua are so close that they talk about everything.
Around the turn of spring and summer in 196, Xu Zihua and Qiu Jin visited Xu Yunhua, a cousin of Xinshi. Cao Jia lives in the Caojia Garden in Xianqiao, Nanchang Street, Xinshi Town. Cao Zhai said, "Yan Yi Tang" is a famous house in the Qing Dynasty in Xinshi Town. Cao Yupu and Xu Yunhua warmly treated their cousins Xu Zihua and Qiu Jin, and wrote poems and lyrics with them. Cao Yupu has a bosom friend, Chen Zhujun, who is a member of the old League. Knowing that Qiu Jin, the heroine of Jianhu Lake, came to the Cao family in the new city, she invited Xu Zihua and Qiu Jin to visit the "Shudetang" in the Chen residence of Shijingtang in the new city. Chen Zhujun was born in about .187, a new citizen, a big name of the Green Red Gang, and became intimate friends with Huang Jinrong, Wang Jinfa and Zhou Fengqi, who was later the governor of Zhejiang Province in the Republic of China. Mr. Chen Zhujun is also the alternate magistrate of Guangxu Jiangsu Province. He set up "Wanxing Wool Travel" in Hujiafen, a new city. After Wuchang Uprising, Chen Zhujun took part in the attack on the Governor's Office in Zhejiang Province. He was a member of the death squad with Chiang Kai-shek (.1887-.1975), and later served as an alternate member of the Kuomintang Central Committee. He was an executive member of Zhejiang Province and had calligraphy and painting contacts with Chiang Kai-shek. Introduced by Cao Yupu and Xu Yunhua, Chen Zhujun met Qiu Jin, and this time Qiu Jin stayed in the new city for about three to five days.
The second time Qiu Jin came to the new city was about the beginning of 197. She first lived in Shimen, Xu Zihua's maiden. Because the Qing court regarded Qiu Jin as a wanted criminal and knew her relationship with Xu Zihua, for safety reasons, Xu Zihua escorted Qiu Jin to Xu Yunhua's cousin's house in the middle of the night, and Qiu Jin lived in the building facing south in Caojia Garden (which still exists today). A few days later, when Xu Zihua saw that the pursuit of Qiu Jin was getting tighter, he arranged Qiu Jin at Chen Zhujun's house. After about a week, Qiu Jin insisted on going back to Shaoxing, so Chen Zhujun escorted her out by boat in the middle of the night, and the specific location was not tested.
On July 5th, 197, Qiu Jin was killed by the Qing court at Xuantingkou, Shaoxing. Xu Zihua was so sad that he buried Qiu Jin at Xizi Lake. Cao Yupu and Xu Yunhua also funded Qiu Jin's funeral expenses. To commemorate Qiu Jin, Xu Zihua initiated the establishment of "Autumn Society", with Xu Zihua as the president and Xu Yunhua and Cao Yupu as members. Mr. Liu Yazi (1.887-1.959), a famous poet in China in modern times and a friend of Qiu Jin and Xu Zihua, wrote a seven-character poem in Hongkong on February, 1948, remembering the friendship with Xu Zihua in Qiu Jin. The original poem was destroyed, and the photocopy was kept in the new city. The poem said, "The autumn pavilion is gone, and the Yu Yu is knocking at the tomb door again." "When Manshu Hanbi and others are waiting for Xiao, tomorrow, if the sun flowers cry far away, my old friends in the underground should treat me, and spring will come to the lonely mountain. Bing Xin, my pride
The centenary of Bing Xin's birth in Lei Jieqiong
My beloved friend Bing Xin left me after 99 years in the 2th century, and I am very sad. How I want to hold another bouquet of red roses and tell her about our friendship for nearly 7 years.
I met Bing Xin. In 1931, I came back from studying in the United States and applied to teach in the Department of Sociology in yenching university. At that time, the dean was Bing Xin's husband, Mr. Wu Wenzao. Bing Xin teaches in the Chinese Department of yenching university. We know each other and are dear friends. I'm from Guangdong, and I don't have a home in Beiping. Bing Xin often invites me to her home, and the relationship is very close.
I remember that in 1934, before the Anti-Japanese War, I was invited by Bing Xin to participate in social investigation activities along Pingsui (now Beijing-Baotou Line). After returning from the inspection, Bing Xin, Wu Wenzao and I have published articles such as A Trip to Bailing Temple, Mongolian yurts and General Situation of Catholicism along Pingsui. In front of the yurt at Bailing Temple in Baotou, the photo of Bingxin and I is still treasured. The past is vivid, more than 6 years have passed ...
War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression broke out and Beiping fell, yenching university was forced to close, and Bing Xin and I were one after another. I went to Jiangxi to engage in anti-Japanese national salvation activities. Bing Xin's family went through a lot of difficulties and moved to Kunming and Chongqing in the rear area to join the Chinese Literature and Art Anti-Enemy Association and engage in cultural salvation activities. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Bing Xin and Wu Wenzao went to Japan for social investigation, during which Bing Xin was invited to teach at the University of Tokyo.
In the bonfire of the Anti-Japanese War, Bing Xin and I were separated from each other, and I didn't want to leave Beiping for 14 years!
Bing Xin returned to China in p>1951. Later, I heard from her that when I heard the news of the founding of New China in Japan, I felt the joy I had never had in my life. She went to anxious to return and finally returned to the vibrant Beijing after many twists and turns. She excitedly told me about Premier Zhou Enlai's meeting with her and Wu Wenzao in Zhongnanhai.
it was an unforgettable time. The new country, new people and new life have inspired Bing Xin's creation. Bing Xin sang new China, described new life, praised truth, goodness and beauty, and wrote a lot of works. In addition, Bing Xin devoted herself to international exchanges with great energy. As the cultural emissary of the people of China, she frequently visited, made friends and worked for the cause of world peace and human progress ... In 1956, after my introduction, Bing Xin and Wu Wenzao joined the China Association for the Promotion of Democracy. In our communication, new contents have been added.
Bing Xin is a writer. She is the same age as the 2th century. Her 8-year writing career shows the great track of China's modern literature from the May 4th literary revolution to today's new period literature. Bing Xin's broad love, in keeping with the pulse of the times, has been integrated into more than 7 million words of works, which has influenced and educated generation after generation. Bing Xin has a consistent sense of responsibility to the country, society and people. She is a model of patriotic intellectuals. She once said that my favorite occupation is teaching, and loving education is patriotism.
When we woke up from the nightmare of the "Cultural Revolution", Bing Xin said that "life begins at the age of eighty", and her creation reached a second climax, with hundreds of works published. I am very happy for her. Bing Xin's works in his later years are mostly important social themes that cut to the chase and pay attention to the future and destiny of the country. Among them, "I ask" and "I thank you" are even more inspiring and have great social repercussions. This is a portrayal of Bing Xin's sincere, upright and courageous personality. In 1993, Bing Xin said in an article that "education is the foundation of a century-long plan". In governing the country, we must not forget to take education as the foundation. ..... So I called in an article' Don't sit idly by and watch an China, 9.6 million square kilometers of fertile land turn into a vast and boundless cultural desert in the 21st century'. " Her concern for the country and the people has so far warned us that we should not slacken our efforts in implementing the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education.
To this end, Bing Xin is more practical. In recent years, Bing Xin has donated nearly 2, yuan to the Sociology Scholarship of Central University for Nationalities, Soong Ching Ling Foundation, Anhui Disaster Area, Fujian Hometown School, Rural Women's Education and Development Foundation, National Hope Project and so on. In order to give children more rich and tasteful spiritual food, we should take care of the "Bing Xin Award" for children's books, which was established in 1989 to promote the development of children's literature. In each selection, Bing Xin must personally review the works and reward the authors. She encourages everyone to leave beautiful things to their children, caress the children around them and look forward to the future of the motherland ... < P > Since the autumn of 1994, Bing Xin has been living in Beijing Hospital, and she is always optimistic. On the eve of Hong Kong's return to China, she wrote the words "Hong Kong's return, my heart is happy" on her deathbed, and the lines were full of love for the motherland.
In recent years, every October for Bing Xin's birthday, I always send roses and my wishes, and often bring newspaper clippings I collected for her. That's an article or photo about her that I cut from the newspaper when I was on a business trip or visiting. Last year, I went to see her on her birthday, and she thanked me. I can't forget that soft words and that smile … At that time, I leaned down and kissed her cheek and said I love you, and she said I love you, too. The shutter of the camera flashed and photographed this eternal moment, which is my treasure.
In p>1994, when my anthology was published, Bing Xin gladly prefaced it. She called me her most beloved friend in the preface. I think this is more suitable for me to say to her: Bing Xin, my most beloved friend. Beloved friends talk about everything. Bing Xin's story is a story of beauty and love. She left us a lot, a lot ...
Bing Xin is my pride and the pride of China people.

Eat it alive
Foreign customs are always interesting, because exoticism is always novel. Novelty is fun. However, if you move the exotic atmosphere to your home alive and practice it, the novelty will often become a shackle, and the fun will often become disgusting. For this reason, many people still drink tea without sugar and milk.

Poetry is hard to sell
Poetry cannot be sold for money. A new poem, such as breaking a few whiskers, can be unscripted, but the cost is still light. What I am afraid of is that it is like a pearl in the belly of an oyster. It is a disease. How long will it take to temper and breed success? Where can I find my employer?

Warmth in Illness
Lu Xun's last words before his death are "If you don't forgive others, Dont Ask For Help will forgive." That attitude can certainly be prepared. People who are not as great as Lu Xun are easy to compromise with human beings when their physical strength is weak. After many days of stiff lying, I looked at everyone's humanity and felt that the world could still be nostalgic. However, when my temperature and pulse almost returned to normal, I relapsed and couldn't get sand into my eyes.

A free man
"Ragged clothes are the sin of poverty, but they are the robes of beggars, the beautiful symbols of his profession, his property, his dresses, and the clothes he publicly appeared in public places. ..... No one is willing to ask about his religious or political tendencies. He is the only free man in the world. " Having said that, no one will be such a free man until he is at the end of his rope. Only those who have always been immortals, such as Li Tieguai and Jigong, are willing to become beggars for a short time when they play on earth.

The wonder of flexibility
Shakespeare has a famous sentence: "Fragility", your name is "woman!" "But this fragility does not always make women suffer. The more flexible things are, the less likely they are to be destroyed.

The peak of "Essays of Elegant Houses, Women"
For example, when people reach middle age, they seem to have reached the highest peak. Looking back, a string of young men are climbing up without looking back or wiping their sweat. Take a closer look. There are many stumbling blocks on the road. I knocked myself black and blue, and there were many traps, which made me a frog at the bottom of the well for several years. ..... The observation of all these scenes is only possible when standing on the highest peak. Looking ahead, the road ahead is downhill, which is much easier to walk.

Middle-aged Essays by Elegant Houses
I have seen some gifted men and women. When they were young, they were stupefied, heavy-eyed and stiff, like some green and astringent hairy peaches.
