Yunnan Normal University, formerly known as National Southwest Associated University, is a provincial key normal university with a long history and fine tradition, located in Kunming, the spring city. Born in the anti-Japanese bonfire 1938, formerly known as the National Southwest Associated University Teachers College. 1946, Peking University, Tsinghua and Nankai, which formed the Federation, were demobilized and returned to the north. Teachers' College was established independently in Kunming and named as National Kunming Teachers' College. 1950 was renamed Kunming Normal University, and 1984 was renamed Yunnan Normal University. 1999, Yunnan Normal University merged with Yunnan Institute of Education and Yunnan Institute of Physical Education. The school abides by the motto of "Perseverance" of National Southwest Associated University, and has formed the school spirit of "being good at learning and being an official".
