Xishuangbanna Vocational and Technical College, formerly known as the provincial Fohai Simple Normal School, was founded in 1936. In July, 20001year, with the approval of the provincial people's government and the record of the Ministry of Education, the former Xishuangbanna Normal School for Nationalities, Xishuangbanna Radio and TV University and Xishuangbanna Education College merged to form Xishuangbanna Vocational and Technical College.

The college is divided into two parts: new campus and old campus. The old campus is located in the center of Jinghong, the capital of Xishuangbanna, a famous tourist city with beautiful scenery, which is known as "National Garden City" and "China's most influential tourist destination". It covers an area of nearly 200 mu and has a beautiful campus environment and distinctive school-running characteristics.

Menglun Campus covers an area of 1.232 mu, with an investment of 1.88 million yuan and a student size of 1.654 38+0.000. It is located in Menglun Town, Mengla County, on the Suoluo River, a tributary of Lancang-Mekong River, adjacent to Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden of China Academy of Sciences. The old campus has a total construction area of 72,556 ㎡, fixed assets of 833 1.7 1.000 yuan, total teaching equipment of 38,498,500 yuan, library collection of 3 1.23 million copies, and electronic books 1.6034 copies.

The college is composed of eight secondary colleges, teaching departments and centers, including International Exchange College, Teachers College (public course department), Medical College, Tourism Finance College, Life Science College and Secondary Vocational Education Center. There are 43 specialties (22 students enrolled all the year round), including 5 provincial specialty and provincial key construction specialty.
