The International Monetary Fund is a multilateral cooperation organization established by the United Nations system specifically to promote international monetary and financial cooperation and voluntarily participated by sovereign states. According to the "International Monetary Fund" adopted by the United Nations Monetary and Financial Conference held in New Hampshire, USA in July 1944

"IMF Agreement" was established at the end of 1945 as a specialized agency of the United Nations.

It currently has 184 member states and is headquartered in Washington, the capital of the United States.
