A brief introduction to the complete works of Aristotle

The ten-volume Chinese translation of The Complete Works of Aristotle is a key research project of the Seventh Five-Year Plan of the National Foundation for Philosophy and Social Sciences. In 1985, the original project was named The Complete Works of Aristotle translated into Chinese from ancient Greek. The project was compiled by Professor Miao Litian, and the participants in the translation work included Xu Cai, Yu Jiyuan, Qin Dianhua, Yan Yi, Cui Yanqiang and Li Qiuling. After ten years of cold and heat, the whole book was submitted to Renmin University of China Press in January 1997. During this period, in order to meet the needs of readers, several important volumes in the complete works, such as Volume I, Volume II, Volume III, Volume VII, Volume VIII and Volume IX, have been published by Renmin University of China Press respectively, which has aroused great repercussions in academic circles and has been reprinted successively.
