Bradley (1893- 198 1) was born in Clark, Missouri, USA. He studied at West Point Military Academy 19 1 1, and later went to Staff College and Military Academy for further study. He is the principal of Fort Benning Infantry School in Georgia. He served in the 82nd Division of the United States Army at the beginning of World War II. 1in February, 943, Bradley was appointed as the commander of the 2nd Army of the US Army in North Africa, under the North African Expeditionary Force commanded by Barton. 1On May 7th, 943, Bradley conquered Saida, Tunisia, forcing 40,000 Axis troops to surrender. This campaign won a great victory and was promoted to Lieutenant General. After the war in North Africa, he led troops to land in Sicily. 1In the autumn of 943, Bradley was named by General Eisenhower and transferred to Britain as the commander of the first US Army Corps. 1In June, 944, he commanded the Normandy landing war, drove the Germans out of Luxembourg, Belgium, the Netherlands and France, and led troops into Paris on August 25th to participate in the unforgettable liberation parade. 1In the winter of 944, Bradley led the 1st12nd Army to successfully repel the German counterattack on the Ardennes Plateau, and broke through the Sieger Ferid defense line. 1945 surrounded 330,000 German troops in Ruhr in March, and led his troops to meet the Soviet troops in Elbe River on April 25th.
