Xiamen University (XMU for short) was founded in 192 1 year by Chen Jiageng, a famous patriotic overseas Chinese leader. It is the first university founded by overseas Chinese in the history of modern education in China.
The school has Siming Campus, Zhangzhou Campus, Xiang 'an Campus and Malaysia Branch, as well as graduate schools, 6 departments, 34 colleges (directly affiliated departments and directly affiliated centers) and 17 research institutes, forming a/kloc-covering philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, medicine, management, art and interdisciplinary subjects.
