1on March 8, 983, the Guangdong provincial government approved the Shenzhen municipal government's "agreement to establish Shenzhen University". The meeting decided that the school site should be located in Guimiao section of Deep Bay, and one square kilometer (1500 mu) should be designated as the school site area.
On February 7th, 1984, the first phase of Shenzhen University officially broke ground. On September 4-6, the administrative departments and departments moved from the temporary campus in the urban area to the new campus in Yuehaimen.
