The Life of Wu Xiansheng's Characters

Wu Xiansheng (1954—) was born in Ningguo. Dean of Adult Branch of China Academy of Fine Arts, Professor of Chinese Painting Department, famous young and middle-aged painter. From primary school to middle school, Wu Xiansheng showed his talent for painting. After graduating from high school, I went to the countryside, but I still kept painting, learned from my teacher and devoted myself to oil painting. He entered the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts in 1975 and graduated from the university in 1978. Because of his excellent performance, he was kept in school to work. When Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts enrolled the first graduate students after the Cultural Revolution, Wu Xiansheng was lucky enough to enter the graduate class of figure painting of famous China figure painters Fang Zengxian, Shu Chuanxi and Professor Gu Shengyue for further study. Under the careful guidance of his tutor, he was hungry and devoted to his creation. He mastered the painting theory and creative skills carefully and won the praise of his tutor. His work "Thinking" was selected by the Chinese Painting Association and sent to Japan for exhibition. After graduation, Professor Fang Zengxian left him as his teaching assistant. Since then, Wu Xiansheng has worked hard in the teaching and creation of China ink figure painting, and achieved remarkable results.

Wu Xiansheng has devoted himself to the teaching of the basic course of figure painting and the discussion and research of human body art in China since he became a teaching assistant to Professor Fang Zengxian, and his achievements have caused great influence in the national art circles. In his teaching and creative practice, Wu Xiansheng has always advocated borrowing the past to open up the present and integrating Chinese and western cultures. On the one hand, he studied and inherited the true meaning of China's figure painting and absorbed nutrients from traditional art, but he was not satisfied with China's traditional painting techniques; On the other hand, he absorbed western sketching methods and modern painting techniques and blended them for my use. In 1986, the State Education Commission held an education seminar, and Wu Xiansheng's teaching and research achievements were affirmed by experts attending the meeting, and were popularized in the teaching of national art colleges.

He not only worked hard in practice, but also constantly summed up experience. Since 1987, when Shandong Fine Arts Publishing House and Anhui Fine Arts Publishing House published his picture album "Sketch of Human Body" and "Selected Wu Xiansheng Ink and Wash Figure Paintings", he has published more than 1 collections of human body sketches and ink and wash figure paintings in China. Taiwan Province Art Book Company and asia art center * * * published five of his paintings, and Korean and Japanese also published his albums and works. He has published dozens of teaching papers, participated in more than ten exhibitions at home and abroad, and won many awards. In 1993, Anhui Fine Arts Publishing House published the theoretical work "A New Theory of Sketch Teaching", which can be said to be a summary of the basic teaching of plastic arts and the research of human body art in Wu Xiansheng, with pioneering and leading value. In 1993, he won the second prize for young teachers of Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation of the State Education Commission.

In 1992, Wu Xiansheng, who was only 38 years old, was promoted to associate professor.

Wu Xiansheng is a Chinese painter who grew up in the great blending of Chinese and western cultures. He has rich traditional Chinese painting background and is receiving the nutrition of western painting. While focusing on human body sketch, he boldly combined the lines of China traditional art, the beauty of Mo Yun and the color of western painting into the shaping of the body, organically combined realism, freehand brushwork and image expression, and created a new artistic realm of ink figure painting, which has pioneering value in China figure painting art.

His five collections of paintings, such as Sketch of Female Body, Sketch of Body Line, Sketch of Head, Ink-and-Wash Portrait of Wu Xiansheng Ink-and-Wash Portrait, were published in Taiwan Province in 199, which had a great influence on the art circles in Taiwan Province. Some critics said: "Mr. Wu Xiansheng's attempt to sketch the human body ink has opened up the possibility of creating human body painting and enriched the creation of traditional ink painting. Therefore, no matter from the level of creation or education, Mr. Wu's creation is of great significance."

Xiao Feng, president of Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts, introduced Wu Xiansheng's ink and wash figure painting with the title of "All-inclusive, Carry Forward the Past" in Taiwan Province's Art Noble magazine. He believes that "Wu Xiansheng's human body sketch contains an obvious national spirit and China style." The reason is due to Wu Xiansheng's research on Chinese painting, because he himself is a practitioner of figure painting in China, and he has integrated many excellent essences of Chinese painting into sketch practice, forming his own artistic characteristics. "Big and energetic, delicate and full of passion, bold choice, concise and rich language, free use of lines, both depth and strength, both in expressing objects, expressing feelings and forming the rhythm of the picture, etc. have reached a certain height."

Wu Xiansheng's Ink-and-Wash Portrait was reprinted in Taiwan Province, and his book Ink-and-Wash Portrait Techniques had a repercussions in Southeast Asia, and Japan and South Korea rushed to publish it ... Wu Xiansheng's name was also selected into the Who's Who of Modern Painting and Calligraphy in China and the Dictionary of Modern Painters in China.

in p>1992, at the invitation of Paris painting circle, he visited France and Europe, and held a solo exhibition in Paris Art City, which won unanimous praise from artists in Paris painting circle. Ms. Bruno, President of Paris International Art City, repeatedly praised: "This is the best China art work exhibited in the Art City in recent years." The European Times and Dragon Newspaper made a special introduction. Then an exhibition of paintings was held in Francois Gallery, France. In 1993 and 1994, at the invitation of Le Havre, France, he held a solo exhibition in his gallery for two consecutive years. Wu Xiansheng's frequent invitation to hold solo exhibitions abroad is still rare in China, so it is no wonder that he was called by the art critics: "Wu Xiansheng is a leader in the field of ink figure painting."

He is not only unique in China's ink figure painting, but also has his own personality in landscape painting creation: he has inherited traditional techniques and used modern means, splashing ink and colors bring out the best in each other, and he is magnificent and vigorous, full of charm and dripping ink, and plays various forms in the ink group.

Wu Xiansheng, who is now the dean of the Adult Branch and a graduate tutor, still hasn't put down his brush. He insists on painting several pieces every day and writes articles and books. Wu Xiansheng tirelessly pursues to "make China ink figure painting a brilliant star in the world painting art sky."
