Wang Yuanfeng said that as early as March 2006, Chen Xiaoxu felt unwell. At Chen Xiaoxu's home in Beijing, Wang Yuanfeng saw Chen Xiaoxu inadvertently holding her right breast many times. Her family advised her to see a doctor. , but she never took it seriously. She was really desperate, so she grabbed some Chinese medicine and came back to take it. When her condition didn't improve, she thought Chinese medicine was slow to work, so she kept putting off the treatment.

Wang Yuanfeng said that later the pain became too much and she entered the hospital. It was only after a hospital examination that I found out I had breast cancer. In October 2006, Chen Xiaoxu began to practice in retreat at Baiguo Xinglong Temple in Changchun. In March 2007, she moved to a closed ashram in Shenzhen to continue practicing. By the end of April, she could no longer get out of bed and was so skinny that she only weighed about 70 pounds.

Chen Xiaoxu has been studying Buddhism for a long time and has devoted himself to practice for many years.
