Zheng Hairong graduated from Harbin Institute of Technology with a bachelor's degree, and received a doctorate from the University of Colorado in 2006. He is also the vice president of Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology of China Academy of Sciences, the director of Paul C.Lauterbur Biomedical Imaging Center, the director of National High Performance Medical Device Innovation Center, and the director of Key Laboratory of Health Informatics of China Academy of Sciences.

Zheng Hairong's main research fields are medical imaging theory, technology and instrument system, signal processing and electronics.

He put forward the hidden regularization sparse fast imaging theory and a new system of high-speed imaging electronics, which broke through the problem of slow imaging speed of medical magnetic resonance imaging. As the chief scientist, he led the team to successfully develop the first 3.0T high-field magnetic oscillator in China and the first 5.0T ultra-high-field magnetic oscillator in the world, and realized industrialization, breaking the long-term monopoly of foreign countries.

He also proposed a new biological measurement method of sound radiation force, successfully developed a new generation of non-invasive ultrasonic elastic modulus imager, realized the leap of ultrasonic generation, and used it in more than 0/000 hospitals around the world. A new principle of nerve regulation of ultrasonic radiation force is put forward, and the world's first noninvasive brain nerve regulator is successfully developed.
